Background
Liebovich was formerly a reporter and editor for the Milwaukee Sentinel, a reporter/editor for the Rockford (Ill.) Register-Republic, and a reporter for the Champaign-Urbana Courier. He won several awards as a reporter. He has written five books on the press the presidency and the press and foreign policy. He previously was an instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and UW-Whitewater.
Research and Creative Endeavor
Liebovich is the author of Abrahams Rhyme (Nightengale Press, 2007); Richard Nixon, Watergate, and the Press: A Historical Retrospective (Praeger, 2003); The Press and the Modern Presidency (Praeger, 1998, 2nd edition in 2001); Bylines in Despair: Herbert Hoover, the Great Depression and the U.S. News Media (Praeger, 1994), and The Press and the Origins of the Cold War 1944-47 (Praeger, 1988). He is a co-author (with Shraga Feivel Bielawski) and editor of The Last Jew From Wegrow (Praeger, 1991). His fourth book, The Press and the Modern Presidency, won the Choice Magazine Award as one of the outstanding academic books of 1998. His areas of interest include media history, the press and the presidency, media economic history, politics and the media.
