Ebert Center Grants

The Roger Ebert Center for Film Studies calls for submissions to support travel and research grants to faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students conducting research on film. The program is limited to faculty and students within the College 51³Ô¹Ï. The funds must directly support work in film and film studies.

  • The maximum grant for faculty members is $1,500
  • The maximum grant for graduate students is $1,000
  • The maximum grant for undergraduate students is $500

Applications will be considered on the basis of:  

  • Quality and importance of the proposed research/work
  • Significance for developing the potential and progress of the applicant’s research/work
  • Budget appropriateness, both in terms of the project proposed and of the Ebert Center’s resources

Applications must include which grant you are applying for (faculty, graduate student, or undergraduate student), your affiliation with the College 51³Ô¹Ï, a short description of project (200 words max), plus a justification of budget with itemization.

The application deadline is February 15, with possible rolling submissions if budget allows.

Successful applicants are eligible to apply once every two years.
